Christmas Day is all about spending time with loved ones—and it goes without saying that loved ones include our pets! From thoughtful gifts to shared moments, here are some pet-focused tips to make Christmas all the more special.
Start the day with a special treat
Let your pet join in the excitement with their very own Christmas breakfast. Try preparing a pet-safe festive meal, or surprising them with a treat-filled puzzle feeder to keep them entertained while you enjoy your breakfast.
Include them in gift-giving
Tearing the patterned paper off your new presents is one of the joys of Christmas morning, so why not let your pet join in? Wrap up their new toys and treats for them to “unwrap” (with a little help if needed). It can be very cute watching them figuring out their new toy for the first time, so it’s a great idea to do it while the whole family is round.

Make memories with a festive photoshoot
Is your pet well-behaved enough to pose for a photo? If you can, grab a holiday snap with them. Whether all cosy under the tree, or in a fun group picture in matching jumpers, it’ll be something to cherish. Just remember, your pet won’t appreciate costumes—keep it natural and stress-free for them.

Set up a cosy corner
Amidst the hustle and bustle, give your pet a comfy and quiet spot where they can relax. Add a favourite blanket, toys, and a festive treat or two. It’s a busy day, so it’s nice to help them feel like they can take a break.
Enjoy a Christmas walk
If the weather’s crisp and clear, a festive walk is the perfect way to enjoy the day together. It’s often quiet out on Christmas day, but all the lights and trees will be up. Whether it’s just you and your dog or a whole family outing, it’s a great chance to stretch your legs, burn off some Christmas dinner, and enjoy the festive scenes.

Wind down with a Christmas film
After the excitement of the day, settle down for a cosy evening with your pet. They’ll love curling up on the sofa with you while you stick on a festive classic—complete with cuddles, of course. If you didn’t get a holiday snap earlier, this could be a good moment for one as well.

Prepare for Boxing Day
Don’t rush to tidy up all the boxes and wrapping paper from Christmas Day! Cats often adore exploring empty boxes, or curling up inside them. Let them enjoy these simple pleasures while you unwind from the festivities.
And there we have it! We wish you the happiest of Christmases and all the best for the New Year!
